Sharing a Passion for Racing Pigeons

For more than a century, the American Racing Pigeon Union has brought together people who share a passion for racing homing pigeons. Whether you are discovering the sport for the first time, an experienced competitor, a young fancier, or someone who simply loves these remarkable birds, the AU is here to help you learn, compete, connect, and grow. Membership connects you with a nationwide community while providing programs, resources, recognition, and support designed to strengthen both our members and the future of pigeon racing.

There’s More to Being an AU Member

Some of the programs, resources, and opportunities we can highlight include:

  • Help-A-Beginner Program – Connecting newer fanciers with experienced members who can offer guidance, advice, and support as they get started.

  • Junior Membership & Youth Programs – Encouraging the next generation of pigeon fanciers through youth activities, education, scholarships, and opportunities to participate in the sport.

  • National Youth Race – Giving young AU members an opportunity to experience competition and become more involved in racing.

  • National Awards & Recognition – Celebrating outstanding pigeons, performances, and accomplishments across the country; the AU describes its national awards as among its signature member offerings.

  • Jim Jenner Film Library – Exclusive member access to Jim Jenner’s collection of racing pigeon films and educational content.

  • EWINSPEED – The AU’s internet-based race calculation and race-management resource for clubs and race secretaries.

  • National Database & Band Services – Resources that help identify registered birds, clubs, and owners and support the administration of the sport.

  • AU Convention & Member Events – Opportunities to meet fellow fanciers, learn, celebrate the sport, and connect with the broader AU community.

  • Sport Promotion & Educational Resources – Materials and support that members and clubs can use to introduce pigeon racing to their communities and help attract new participants.

  • A National Voice for the Sport – The AU has worked since 1910 to protect and promote racing pigeons and the interests of the people who enjoy the sport.
